Our Curriculum

at Thomas Adewumi International College

Learning at TAICO is backed by state of the art laboratories, workshops and libraries. Our aim is to keep students up-to-date with latest technology and trends.

Enriched Curriculum

The College runs the National Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary Programmes as well as the University of Cambridge General Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations at ’O”
level and checkpoint for junior students.

Many students gain as much success outside the classroom as they do within it. We place a high degree of value upon the range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities that run throughout
the academic year.

Thomas Adewumi International College has a reputation for promoting cultural and artistic activities as well as taking part in Music Festivals and being a centre for music making within the community. During the college year we also stage presentations of Concerts, Plays, Evenings of Cultural Expression as well as Art Exhibitions.

Throughout the year pupils take part in excursions, field trips, visits to Museums, places of historic interest, centres of production, universities and technological institutes. There are trips to French-speaking West African countries for our French students and others who may be interested.

JSS3 students take part in a Leadership / Outward Bounds course after their exams which takes place at Thomas Adewumi University Outward Bounds Centre, Oko.

Those in SS2 attend a Leadership Training Course at the Sea School in Lagos. This enables pupils to be assertive and able to face challenges in real life situations.

Our learning system

The Academic Year runs from September to July and is divided into three terms. In each term there are programmed visiting days for parents to visit their wards as well as find out their academic progress.

Parents are notified in advance of the Term dates and other important events in the year so that they can make their plans accordingly.

We also prepare students for the IELTS, SAT and TOEFL Examinations using the online training course. We are conversant with these examinations.

TAICO is a wonderful place to work. My colleagues are smart, kind, and supportive. The school is well organized and efficient. But what keeps me coming back are the wonderful kids I get to teach and learn from every day. They are in the right hands.

What makes our youth gifted and talented may not always be good grades in school, but a different way of looking at the world and learning.
